Character Profile: Kenneth Parcell

The last character to fit within the 'principal cast' would have to be well mannered yet dim-witted Kenneth 'The Page' Parcell, brilliantly portrayed by Jack McBrayer. The complexities to this character are too numerous to mention, including his intriguing bonds with head honcho Jack Donaghy and lead actor Tracy Jordan.

Likes: Kenneth’s two loves in life are Television and the National Broadcasting Company. He will do anything and everything for those two entities, which sometimes leads him to demeaning work. But this work does not deter our Kenneth. He loves television so much that he spends a lot of his time inventing new shows. Those include but are not limited to: Gold Case, Art School, and Ice Cream Cohen.

Dislikes: One of the only things viewers have witnessed that Kenneth dislikes is damage to his beloved Page Jacket. Also, Kenneth is not very fond of his mother’s “friend” Ron.

Personal Life: Kenneth grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia. His father was a pig farmer, but mysteriously left the family in the hands of Ron. Since his graduation from Kentucky Mountain Bible College, Kenneth has become head of the NBC Pages through a negotiation for short lived Gold Case. He often says that his mother is his best friend, and he also gathers attention from many other women, even if accidentally. There is a “will-they-won’t-they” tension between him and Cerie, the scantily clad receptionist for TGS. He has also had a romantic encounter with Grace Park, another soft spoken Page. The most controversial relationship he has had may not have even happened at all. It is insinuated that Kenneth may have slept with TGS’s female lead, Jenna Maroney. In his words, “She was the wrong kind of crazy. I guess we will have to get married now”.

Below is just a small selection of Kenneth's seemingly innocent moments. His character works so well because of the way they portray him as very sweet, but with an underlying creepyness. Especially the many references to him being much older than people realise, maybe even being immortal.
